Being an effective coach for your organizational team involves learning the art of asking questions that help your team members discover the answers that can help to solve problems in new\, creative ways.  Join us for this Leadership Ashland Continuing Education Seminar to learn how you can improve your coaching skills and increase engagement in your team.\n\n \n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n	 Understand the difference between coaching and telling\n	 Learn why coaching is an important skill for managers\n	Recognize how coaching can improve performance\, engagement and problem solving\n	 Learn how to coach different types of personalities\n	 The importance of active listening for managers\n	 Guide team members in setting goals and coaching to those  goals\n	 What to do when coaching isn't working\n\n\nPresenter:  John S. Brent\, Ph.D. \nSince 1980\, Dr. Brent has built his professional career around the theme of helping others achieve their personal and professional goals. He has done so as a university professor\, clinical counselor and executive coach. Dr. Brent is currently a Clinical Counselor and Executive Coach with Jorden & Associates in Ashland\, and Professor Emeritus and Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Franklin University in Columbus. He holds a Ph.D. from Ohio University in Clinical Counseling\, is licensed as a Supervising Clinical Counselor in Ohio\, and a Registered Corporate Coach with the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches.
